The house sits in Ben Smim, on the N13 road between Azrou and Ifrane, at about 1,250 metres above sea level: 18 minutes from the first, 28 from the second. The walls are bare stone. The headboards and screens are made of light wooden slats. In the living room, the ceiling is draped in golden fabric, like a tent.
Outside, a wooden pergola terrace with a barbecue looks out over the mountains. The jacuzzi is for house guests only, and a body of water borders the grounds. The Azrou cedar forest and its Barbary macaques are eight kilometres away.

The place in detail
Bedrooms and living room
The first bedroom is a closed room, with a double bed and a light wooden slat headboard. The second is the living room, with patterned burgundy and terracotta banquettes, whose sofa bed serves as the second sleeping space.
The walls are bare stone. The living-room ceiling is draped in golden fabric, like a tent, and pottery and tagines fill the alcoves. The entrance is private: you never walk through anyone else's space to reach your own.
Terrace and grounds
A pergola terrace, a patio, a grassy backyard, and the mountain view. At 1,250 metres, the days are dry and the evenings cool, even in high summer.
Bring something warm for the evening. It is the one thing everyone says after their first time up here.
Kitchen and meals
The kitchen is fully equipped: fridge, microwave, gas hob, oven, espresso machine, and everything you need to cook. A dining table indoors, another outside under the pergola, with a barbecue. You eat outside for as long as the light lasts.
Do your shopping in Azrou before driving up. There are no shops near the house.
